You’ve got 34 days till Valentine’s Day. Therefore, behold: our rundown of the spots and the tables to
consider in town this year. Call it “preemptive wooing.”
Table 10, Garden at the Cellar
Not only is it the quaintest two-top in the room, but everything from first dates to wedding proposals to
the occasional breakup has gone down here.
Why it’s right: It also happens to be the table with the best wi-fi reception, in case
you need to locate the closest lingerie shop after dinner.
This is the best corner in the entire rustic-y room. It’s nestled next to the fireplace, and the Hanover
Street views go particularly well with the authentic Roman cuisine and killer olive oil.
Why it’s right: Because it’s the best. But if you can’t snag it, ask nicely for any
of the tables along the windows. Same view, same coziness.
It’s a tiny two-top that overlooks and feeds off the buzz of the lounge area, while still being secluded
enough to turn your attentions inward (or, toward each other).
Why it’s right: Oysters. Tons of them. And since they’re good about taking requests
here, don’t shy away from having a few Narragansett tallboys waiting on ice for your arrival.
Consider this the no-fail option. Ask for one of the leather two-top booth tables and sit down with some
French wine and whatever Barbara Lynch and Co. will be creating for the menu that night.
Why it’s right: The decor, food and wine program are basically built for this holiday,
and there’s not a bad seat in the house.
This corner nook has the best views looking out at the other diners, comes stocked with comfy pillows, and
is known to be a seat that leads to refined PDA.
Why it’s right: The restaurant is literally next door to Paul Revere’s original house.
Little-known fact: revolutionary war heroes’ homes are ferocious aphrodisiacs.
