As your weekend approaches and a weeklong monsoon fades into the rearview, we don't blame you if you're
itching to go out and explore.
So we'd like to suggest a new place in Somerville with the latest progressive American cuisine... by which
we mean beer ice cream.
Introducing
Bergamot, your brand-new bastion of fresh, locally sourced and
envelope-pushing dinners and desserts,
debuting tonight.
Think of Bergamot as your new go-to in the greater Inman Square area, especially when you're in the mood for
a familiar locale (
it's in the old EVOO space) and some familiar faces (the chef/GM team cut their teeth in
Excelsior, Ten Tables and Harvest), but some totally unfamiliar dishes—think duck served three ways
(cured, crackling and thin-sliced) or even some
Braised Rabbit Leg (early reports suggest it's not
the Easter bunny).
Helping you digest all that forward-thinking Americana: housemade pomegranate and acai vodka, a healthy
stable of American and European beers, and
Bergamot Gin (infused with the eponymous flower).
And since any daring meal should be finished off with an equally daring dessert, they've concocted an
off-menu
Beer Ice Cream using Left Hand Milk Stout from Colorado and two scoops of vanilla ice
cream.
And yes, it tastes as good as it sounds.
