Party McFly
The Hot List: 2011 Holiday Parties

Eggnog. Green pants. Chimney-creeping fat guys with a penchant for Nilla Wafers. Yes, the holidays are coming. On the bright side: so are the parties. So here’s a leg up on five of the city’s finest holiday thunderdomes for your perusal. Peruse wisely.

UD - Studio 887 at King Plow Arts Center

FOR THE UNDER-THE-RADAR OFFICE BLOWOUT

Studio 887 at King Plow Arts Center

You Require: A dark and sexy den of holiday excess. And maybe a fireplace for s’mores.
You’ll Receive: Exposed brick, towering vaulted ceilings, endless candles lining the walls and plenty of clandestine potential for interoffice... relations. And a fireplace for s’mores.
411:
Seats up to 170, Studio 887 at King Plow Arts Center, 887 W Marietta St NW, 404-815-1178
UD - The Mitchell Room at Georgian Terrace

FOR CHARMING A FEW DOZEN SCARLETT O’HARAS

The Mitchell Room at Georgian Terrace

You Require: Champagne and lobster in the exact same location the Gone with the Wind premiere gala was held.
You’ll Receive: Floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Peachtree, ornate chandeliers and enough throwback Southern charm to make you consider a cane and top hat. Actually, you should probably consider that anyway.
411:
Holds 40-80, The Mitchell Room at Georgian Terrace Hotel, 659 Peachtree St NE, 404-897-1991
UD - The Commerce Club at 191 Peachtree

FOR KEEPING A FEW JOLLY TITANS OF INDUSTRY BUSY

The Commerce Club at 191 Peachtree

You Require: A downtown business club that doubles as a bottle-popping soiree factory.
You’ll Receive: Options upon options on the 49th floor, from the Bobby Jones Media Room with a 103-inch flat-screen and immediate bar access to the tiny Wine Room for a private dinner and some bourbon-spiked nog. Nogging without bourbon: ill-advised.
411:
Holds 8-175, The Commerce Club, 191 Peachtree St NE (49th floor), 404-222-0191, see the brochure
UD - The Trolley Barn

FOR MAKING THE CLARK GRISWOLD TYPE FEEL AT HOME

The Trolley Barn

You Require: A semi-kitschy, semi-hidden barn from the late 1800s for you and up to 250 of your closest friends. Or family members.
You’ll Receive: A huge open space tucked away in Inman Park with 30-foot ceilings and plenty of bars (P’cheen, Barcelona...) within sprinting distance. You know, in case Grandma busts out the Dean Martin carols.
411:
Holds 75-250, The Trolley Barn, 963 Edgewood Ave NE, 404-521-2308
UD - The Prime Rooms at Ocean Prime

FOR SURFING, TURFING AND TOASTING

The Prime Rooms at Ocean Prime

You Require: A small, glass-walled room filled with booze, crab cakes and holiday cheer for you and the rest of the board. And a select few interns.
You’ll Receive: That. Also, your own flat-screen, fully customizable menus and over 200 wines’ worth of toasting potential. This could get long-winded.
411:
Seats 24-50, The Prime Rooms at Ocean Prime, 3102 Piedmont Rd NE, 404-846-0505
