Mex and Balances
Tacos and Spicy Tequila in Kirkwood

Maybe you’re wearing a sombrero right now.

Maybe you’re drinking margaritas and entering taco-eating competitions.

Maybe... you should skip all that and wait for the dust to settle instead.

Here’s a nice, soft place for you to land when that happens.

Bienvenidos a Elmyriachi, a casual new Mexican spot with build-your-own-tacos, a giant patio and many, many margaritas, slated to open Friday in Kirkwood.

Twist: there’s barely any indication that this is a Mexican joint. Sure, they’ve got some of those religious candles behind the bar and an obligatory mustachioed-guy-in-a-sombrero painting on the wall. But otherwise, it just looks like a good tequila-drinking spot. Few tables inside. Big patio. Long maple bar with a DJ booth built into it.

If you’ve been to Elmyr in L5P, you’ll know what to expect here (the same owners are behind this place). It’s all restaurant-y for quick smoked-brisket tacos by day and all bar-y for Margarita Verdes with avocado puree and jalapeño juice by night.

And take note of that little grassy area between the partially covered patio and the sidewalk. That’s where they eventually plan to set up a little bocce court.

We’re not sure, but bocce at a Mexican place may have just happened.
