A British Hand Pie Spot in the Curb Market

Pies are good.

And... that’s the basic premise behind Panbury’s Double Crust Pies, a new fast-casual spot slinging British-style hand pies stuffed with anything from steak and Guinness to mac and cheese, soft-opening tomorrow with a limited menu in the Sweet Auburn Curb Market.

It’s easy to find this place in the market because it doesn’t look like anything else in the market. You’ll see. Just keep to the walls and walk until you see subway tiles, dangling lights and a huge banner-like structure made of wood.

And once you get there, don’t make a big deal out of it. It’s just a stop-by-if-you’re-in-the-neighborhood-type spot. But since you’ll already be in the neighborhood, allow yourself the indulgence of a Steak & Stout with onions, mushrooms and Guinness.

Or maybe you’d be better off with one that’s stuffed with green Thai chicken curry. Or mac and cheese. Point is: hand pies.

They’ve got teas and a bunch of sides like mashed potatoes and coleslaw, too.

Guess those wouldn’t fit in a pie.
