Brookhaven’s New Oyster Bar Looks Like This

Yep. Welcome to Shucks Oyster & Wine Bar, a new Cape Cod–style... oyster-and-wine bar with just a silly amount of both of those things, opening Thursday in Brookhaven.

Oh, hey, it’s another Tom Catherall spot in Town Brookhaven. First Noche. Then Smash. Now this family-run house of bivalves with Italian chandeliers made from tangled copper wire, scattered communal tables and a subway-tiled counter.

But you accept this.

And you should bring a client in for dinner one night. If you happen to find two open seats at the oyster bar, take them. Then make that gesture you make when you want a bottle of Sancerre and some BCJ oysters (why yes, that does stand for bacon, cheddar and jalapeños).

Or in the event it’s a weekend—say, this one—swing by for a casual lunch date. Spread out on one of those cafeteria-style wooden patio tables. That’s when french onion soup sandwiches and rounds of Louisiana Oyster Shooters (Bloody Mary mix, sake, hot sauce) will start materializing.

And then presumably start making you very happy.
