No One’s Salt but Your Own

Meet Buckhead’s Sexy New Dinner Spot

Hey, your week is really starting to look up.

For one, it’s almost over.

For two, when that happens... this.

It’s Saltyard, a Southern-hospitality-meets-sexier-than-it-probably-should-be-type date spot from the happy couple behind La Grotta, taking reservations now and opening Saturday in Buckhead.

Here’s some pretty refreshing news: what you see is what you get in this place. And what you see is an open kitchen, a big eight-seat chef’s table and hostesses buzzing around in sundresses. It’s a good look. Bonus: they’ll take you wherever you want to go.

Maybe start out at that subway-tiled bar with the rolling ladder behind it. Finagle a couple backless stools there and start eyeballing the menu. It’s mostly small plates. Dates love small plates. They also love German steak tartare and ghost chili salami. So when you’re ready, make a play for a patio table overlooking Peachtree. We hear dates love those, too.

Ah, right. And their liquor license. That’s currently pending. But when it un-pends itself, you’ll be looking at cocktails like the Humble Pie. It’s a mulberry-infused mojito.

So not a pie at all.
