Bubble Tea and Bruce Lee in Poncey-Highland

None 4 Photos Honey Bubble
Bubble tea.

You know the stuff.

You spiked it with snake venom in NYC. Sucked down a few tapioca balls between surf lessons in LA. Used it to not die of dehydration in Hong Kong.

But here... here it’s hard to find.

Let’s fix that, shall we.

Because now there’s Honey Bubble, a slick and lounge-y bubble tea café for chocolate sodas, honey-soaked tapioca balls and a sexier-than-you’d-think evening scene, hoping to soft-open Saturday in Poncey-Highland.

This place tests out pretty well on your “what I require when drinking squishy bubbles through a giant straw” punch list. Bruce Lee flicks projected on a wall: check. Italian lamps, leather couches and a room-length wooden counter overlooking Ponce: check. Cases full of macarons, scones and gelato: check. Also, score.

So get in there. Feel it out. Notice the samurai sword on the wall. The pale-blue tables. The come-hither couches everywhere. Now that potential’s been asserted, go ahead and get to those 25-odd bubble tea flavors—kiwi. Taro. Coconut. Whatever. And the owners are from NYC, so they’ll also be slinging things like Brooklyn egg creams (that’s chocolate syrup, milk and soda water) and bottled espresso from Williamsburg.

Oh, and it’s open late on weekends. And they’ll have DJs soon. And it’s directly across the street from the Clermont Lounge.

Of course it’s directly across the street from the Clermont Lounge.
