Bocce and Truffle Pizza in Buckhead

Let’s address this pizza thing once and for all.

It’s a thing.

So, you know... embrace it.

But with all the wood-fired pie joints popping up around town these days, it’s nice to see one that’s got its priorities straight.

And by priorities, we mean truffles and bocce.

Welcome to Tartufo, an unassuming sliver of a pizza joint with a penchant for truffles and the common decency to build a bocce court right in the middle of the parking lot, slated to soft-open early next week in Buckhead.

This is the kind of place you’ll go with a few friends to carve out the night’s details over wood-fired Italian pies and homemade lasagna.

To your right: a few small tables. To your left: a giant communal one. And in front of you: a tiny open kitchen with a not-so-tiny pizza oven. Which is where you’ll head to commandeer a seat at the chef’s counter and bear witness to the creation of your Siciliana with roasted eggplant and capers, or the namesake Tartufo laced with black truffle, caramelized onion and truffle oil.

And once you’ve had your way with the 15-strong pie list, you’ll want to grab some Fig & Lavender Gelato on your way out to the parking lot, where your bocce court awaits.

Parking lot bocce: it’s like regular bocce, only in a parking lot.
