We've been fans of absinthe in its various forms for
quite sometime, but this is the first time we've
considered splashing it on our face.
On purpose, that is.
The latest wormwood-infused baubleis Korres Absinthe Shave Cream, a non-foaming shave lather that
has us converted to the intoxicant school of facial care.
The non-foaming part means you're dealing with an actual cream, so it'll be more soothing than
hallucination-inducing. The wormwood itself mostly protects against irritation, but the smell will still
bring back memories of your nights of green-fairy-fueled gambling and debauchery in Central European houses
of ill repute.
Of course, with a milder pH and the usual soothers like aloe and vitamin B, you'll get a closer shave than
Karolina ever gave you.
Korres has been on our radar since they opened on Wooster Street in October. Their main stock is natural
Greek products with a homeopathic touch, but lately they've turned to foodier items. And we're always
looking for a change of pace. There's a marigold and ginseng aftershave balm (for covering those
absinthe-filled nicks) and even a quince shower gel, in case you want to be more flavorful.
As for the gin-scented mouthwash...we'd advise against it.
