Welcome to, yes, Fool's Errand, a cheekily named neighborhood bar from the owner of the beloved-but-sadly-closed Caskhouse and Hamlet, now open on Divisadero in the former Mojo Bicycle Café space. Here's the menu and the slideshow.

You and your lovely companion will step down one level from the sidewalk and make your entrance, noticing that they've thankfully eschewed bike repair in favor of cozy, dark-wood-paneled walls and an expanded seating area.

First order of business: libations. Start with something from their list of highly regarded local brews like Temescal Brewing's Asking for a Friend IPA or a playfully esoteric wine like the Malvaziji from Croatia. Finally, some nice Croatian Malvaziji.

Eventually, you'll settle in at a live-edge table. Conversation will flow. Laughs will be had. Your stomach will make stomach noises. At which point it would probably behoove you to order a charcuterie board with Jamón Serrano and aged gouda from Oakdale.
