BLT Goes Burger
Burgers and Spiked Milkshakes in the Village
First there was
steak, then there
was
fish, then it was
prime and now...it's all about the
burger.
When we heard that Chef Laurent Tourondel's new
BLT Burger just soft opened (officially opening
Tuesday), we immediately took it upon ourselves to report breaking coverage of the burger and the bistro's
need-to-know details.
With lush leather booths and a bar doubling as a milkshake stand, this place is like Sonic meets
neighborhood brasserie—with the burgers to keep you coming back. The menu is simple, and burger
options range from the signature
"BLT" Burger to the juicy
Lamb Merguez with yogurt sauce,
to a sweet and tender
Kobe Burger. Burgers are high-quality, with tasty sauces and McDonald's-style
buns. The host of sides also does BLT justice, like the heavenly golden-battered
Vidalia Onion
Rings.
Chef Tourondel knows, though, that no burger is properly enjoyed without...spiked milkshakes. In a genius
throwback move, they have a chocolate
Night Rider shake spiked with Kahlua and vanilla
Grandma's Treat with Maker's Mark (just like how Grandma used to make it). Add house cocktails,
wine and over 25 beer options, along with delivery starting next week (we eagerly await news on the zone),
and you will never need to enjoy burgers without booze again.
We always suspected that LT was a brilliant man.
